2.  Arts audiences: insight

A reminder to order your free copy!

Arts Council England has developed a new arts-based segmentation of English adults comprising 13 distinct groups.

This research provides new insight into how and why different kinds of people engage with the arts in England today.  It can also be used, alongside existing tools, as a source of insight and ideas for developing new audiences for the arts.

You can order your free copy of Arts audiences: insight (normally priced £7), our publication summarising the findings, by emailing our distributor, Marstons Books, at direct.orders@marston.co.uk with the subject header 'ARTSOFFER', and detailing your name and address.

For more details on this research or for a free download of the publication, visit Audience Insight page

For further advice and guidance about the segmentation research, contact your usual lead officer in the region or Belinda Bryan, Regional Partnerships Officer on 01223 454406.

8.  National Federation of Artists' Studio Providers Annual Conference 2008

22, 23, 24 October - Liverpool

What's it worth? The cultural and social value of artists' workspace

Artists need space...space to research, experiment and make work. Studio groups across the country support thousands of artists by providing affordable workspace and enabling artists to play a central role in our cultural life and in thriving communities.

At the second NFASP conference, speakers will champion the value of artists' workspace from different perspectives. Through presentations, case studies, discussion and practical workshops, the conference will make the case for studios sector development.

Who is it for?

Studio groups and organisations, arts policy and programme managers, local authority arts, culture and economic development officers, planners, developers, regeneration bodies and housing agencies – all those with an interest in developing artists’ studios

It will give inspiration, critical weight and practical support to those interested in seeking to ensure the long-term healthy existence of artists' workspaces.

Where?
Novas Centre and A Foundation, Baltic Triangle, Liverpool – European Capital of Culture 2008.
